On the subject of Evol
While I’m on the subject of Berlin artist Evol, I should mention how I came across his work in the first place. A while back, he painted a corridor in Neukolln’s Flamingo Beach Lotel, where each room is designed by a different artist. Evol’s contribution was this street scene depicted below.
At first, I assumed this was just another set of night street shots by some photographer. You can see the attention to detail that he puts into the work (down to the mini-stencils on the box in the third shot). Just to give you a sense of the scale of this work, here is a shot of the artist at work setting up this setting for a gallery show at the Wilde-Gallery in Berlin.
